Work on the mod began in 2007, and was officially released on 13 March 2012. The mod brings Company of Heroes into the modern day, adding three new factions - United States Army, United States Marine Corps and the People's Liberation Army.


CoH: Modern Combat will create a deep, entertaining vision of modern warfare, pitting the modern-day Chinese and American militaries against each other. These two unique factions, with their all-new companies, abilities, and artwork, will work together with the outstanding starting platform that is Company of Heroes in an effort to provide the most immersing, tactical, and fun approximation of modern strategic combat on your PC.

According to CD Projekt developers, management was aware that the game was not ready for release but refused to listen to their warnings.[403] The game's launch has been described as "a shambles",[403][411] and the company's stock fell by 9.4%.[412] CD Projekt has also been subject to at least one lawsuit for fraudulent claims made to investors related to the state of the game.[413] In a January 2021 open message outlining the company's plans to patch and improve the game, CD Projekt's co-CEO Marcin Iwiński stated that they had "underestimated the task" of taking a game that was optimized for personal computers to work well on the older consoles, and their testing had not revealed the problems that players had seen on release; he further affirmed it was the management's decision to release the game and not the developers' fault.[414] As CD Projekt began releasing major patches for the game in March 2021, the company stated that in future games, they will avoid announcing any new titles until they are "much closer" to a launch state.[415]


Some of the fixes detailed within this update from the developer include a variety of quest, creature, and ability names. Therefore, if you are keen to avoid as many potential spoilers as possible, I would advise not reading the full notes. However, Sony Santa Monica "strongly" encourages everyone to download this patch before playing the game.


I wish I had found this blog years ago! I have been trying to find others with whom I served. I was stationed at Camp Gerry, Long Binh, from Nov. 1966 to Nov. 1967. I had been assigned to Co. C, 69th Sig group. Unfortunately, it was a radio company, and I was a dial central office person. I was attached and TDY to 593rd Sig Co, then 44th Sig , 580th Tel Operations Co. I helped install the new telephone exchange, which replaced the original switchboard trailers. I was occasionally called to the War Room ay USRV Headquarters to work on their telephone eqpt. I have several non-combat stories (I was kept out of combat, as I was considered to be too important to be shot at). I may add to this later, if anyone responds who was there when I was. I am trying to locate important information, which seems to have disappeared.
